Aruna is a seasoned early childhood educator with two decades of experience in early years in India and USA. She has worked extensively in daycare centers, preschools and elementary schools and has evolved as a teacher trainer. She has completed AS in early childhood education and her Masters in Child Care & Education and is a certified yoga instructor from the world class SVYASA University, India.
She started doing yoga as part of her schooling and has been amused on the journey of hers and others on how yoga has impacted the social and emotional well being. Initially, she started incorporating in her classrooms and has seen children outgrow their inhibitions.
Since Yoga is an ancient art form that focuses on mind, body and soul, her yoga curriculum for children fosters not just physical development but also socio-emotional development by engaging children in fun games to promote self worth and build emotional intelligence and share their emotions naturally. Through her extensive work and research has designed yoga curriculum which engages right and left hemisphere of brain functioning.
Now a resident of Sacramento she is gearing up to share her knowledge in preschools, daycare and recreational centers and publish children’s books. She enjoys attending veg fests, running and making new friends.
